Brit woman, 36, found dead with boyfriend in Thai hotel room after taking lethal cocktail of drugs as mum issues warning

After consuming a deadly combination of narcotics, a British woman and her boyfriend were discovered dead in a hotel room in Thailand.

Following the death of Rebecca Turner’s 36-year-old partner Sam Melnick in Bangkok earlier this year, her mother is now begging with partygoers.

While traveling on March 15, Anita Turner, 64, of Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, reported that her daughter believed she was using cocaine.

However, it turned out that the powder was actually a mixture of nine different chemicals, including anxiety medications, sleeping pills, and painkillers.

The event has left Anita devastated.

“I just cry every morning when I see a picture of her,” she said. I’m dying over it. It is impossible to describe the anguish of losing a child. Such pain is unimaginable unless it actually occurs to you.

“You just don’t know what you’re getting or how strong it is, and there is a huge drug problem out there. You must exercise extreme caution. The danger is simply not worth it.

In April, Rebecca was scheduled to return to the United Kingdom.

Before she and Sam, a self-employed gas engineer and plumber, arrived at the Khaosan Palace Hotel in Bangkok on March 15, she had attended a friend’s wedding in Laos.

Sam arrived at the hotel thirty minutes before Rebecca that day, according to CCTV footage.

According to Anita, he texted a friend to say he had just purchased cocaine.

Rather, he returned to the hotel room with a concoction of opiates, monoacetylmorphine, morphine, codeine, noscapine, benzodiazepines, temazepam, lorazepam, and diazepam.

It is believed that Rebecca and Sam passed away at around 1pm, and their remains were found by friends who went in search of them.

“People need to know about this because so many people are dying,” Anita stated.

“That road [where Rebecca was staying] is very hazardous because a boy died the day before from the same thing.

“I just want to tap people on the shoulders and tell them: just please don’t take anything.”

Anita said that some of the autopsy report that was delivered to her from Thailand was edited.

“The Thai authorities were unhelpful and useless,” she stated.

“I was supposed to get all of her belongings back in three months, but it took more than six.

“They don’t want people to know how bad the problem is out there.”

The cost of returning Rebecca’s body home in time for a May 10 funeral was covered by her travel insurance.

In September, she held a Buddhist memorial service, and funds were gathered for a Thai school where she volunteered.

In January, a UK inquest regarding Rebecca’s death is anticipated to take place.

Months before to Rebecca’s passing, six young tourists in party hotspot Laos perished within hours of consuming free vodka shots.

However, the drinkers were poisoned by the methanol that was added to the alcohol.

After allegedly refusing to call an ambulance for guests who were dying, eight staff members at the Nana Backpacker guesthouse in Vang Vieng were arrested on Monday.

As previously reported by The Sun, some residents disclosed how a factory error could have caused the catastrophe, albeit it is yet unknown how these drinks could have been tampered with.

The Sun Herald cited anonymous sources who claimed that Tiger Vodka, which costs 36p a bottle, was produced on a property owned by the communist government of Laos.
