Caitlin Clark turns down NBA All-Star Weekend invite to major blow to TV ratings

CAITLIN Clark declined an NBA All-Star Weekend invitation.

The NBA wanted to duplicate the popularity of the Steph Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu three-point shootout.

However, the Indiana Feverstar has stated that the league will not be getting Curry vs. Clark.

Two weeks remain until the All-Star weekend, and the NBA wanted to extend the matchup between Curry and Ionescu.

Clark would be joined by Klay Thompson, Curry’s former colleague from the Golden State Warriors.

That won’t occur, according to Sports Business Journal.

According to the publication, Clark is “disinclined” to compete.

Nonetheless, Clark and the NBA are still in communication.

It appears doubtful that the negotiations between the two sides will be fruitful, as her Excel Sports officials did state that Clark wants her first three-point competition to take place during the WNBA All-Star weekend.

In an attempt to keep her offseason free, Clark has been declining invites in droves.

She turned down a multimillion-dollar offer to play basketball for Ice Cube’s On3 league.

Additionally, unlike many of her WNBA peers, Clark is not playing in the new Unrivaled league.

The Fever star is taking it easy, which makes sense given how busy she was during her first season and March Madness last year.

Fans have however continued to voice their displeasure with the situation despite this.

One fan said, “Can’t hate on her trying to elevate the WNBA.”

“BOOOOO. BOO her. Another fan remarked, “Boo that choice.”
