California Family Locates Missing Dog in Unexpected Michigan Encounter, Is Heart Touching Story

SAN DIEGO, California – A nationwide tale of optimism and puppy love is told by a family who had a wonderful reunion with their missing dog after it was discovered over 2,000 miles away.

“Mishka is a mama’s girl. “She travels everywhere with me,” Mishka’s owner, Elizabeth Houman, stated.

Since it is evident that Mishka is a member of their family, Elizabeth and her daughter Lilly were shocked to receive a phone call informing them that Mishka had gone missing while they were on vacation last summer.

“After leaving, she vanishes from sight. Like, I couldn’t even locate her,” Elizabeth’s husband, Mehrad Houman, remarked.

There were no snuggles at the Houman residence for seven months, and Lilly was left without her hind-leg dancing companion.

Elizabeth said, “She would say, ‘I miss Mishka,’ and I would be like, ‘I miss her too.'”

They never gave up searching. “Never, ever, ever. Elizabeth said, “I just had the feeling that we were going to win her back.

Mehrad continued, “We kept her bed, everything.” until they received a call of a different nature, originating from a Michigan area code.

“Outside of Detroit, Michigan,” Elizabeth added. They were ecstatic when the phone rang.

“Even though she was all scruffy and stuff, like dirt on her face…I was like, ‘That’s my girl,'” said Elizabeth.

And Mishka returned home from Michigan just this past week. “We are so grateful to whoever located her,” said Elizabeth.

It’s still unclear how this tiny puppy, who has a microchip, got to the Midwest. “We still wish to find the truth about this,” Elizabeth continued.

Furthermore, Mishka is not the only animal companion who made it home. Elizabeth noticed this missing cat placard in her neighborhood only a few weeks ago.

“I followed the cats for the owners for about a half-hour and then connected them,” Elizabeth said.

Mishka is skinnier than she was the previous summer, so perhaps good karma for her. She will need lots of goodies and puppy steps to recoup from this exciting adventure, but if her tail is waving, she will be OK.

“I believe it’s all magic; I believe angels are watching over us, praying for us, and looking down. “I genuinely believe that we were destined to have her returned,” Elizabeth continued.

Mishka might be on a tight leash for the time being, but she’s not running from all of these hugs.
