DETROIT (FOX 2):Canton police clamped down on organized retail crime across Metro Detroit, resulting in the incarceration of three men.
We know:
According to officials, the arrests occurred in Dearborn and Detroit during their almost year-long investigation.
Fencing was the claimed offense committed by the three males.
According to Captain Joseph Bialy of the Canton police, “when someone steals something from a store, they take it back to another place and reintroduce it into the commerce again, IE, the fence.”
It all began at a few retail establishments where several things would be taken, such as the Canton Sam’s Club, Meijer, and Home Depot.”It can be anything small, anything from like Red Bull, to razors anything that would be profitable on the secondary market,” Bialy stated.
Investigators discovered that those stolen products were bought from “boosters” by the manager of the gas station and staff of the Valero Gas Station on Linwood Street in Detroit.
Last week, cops made another arrest after following that lead to the Valero gas station.
According to police, Aziz Awadh, Hamood Fatteh, and Safwan Awadh were arrested as a result of their thorough investigation; they are all charged with organized retail crime.
