Charleston Shooting Update: Suspect Arrested for California Dreaming Restaurant Shooting
CHARLESTON, S.C. – A man was taken into custody on Friday in connection with a shooting that occurred on May 24 at the restaurant California Dreaming in Charleston.
Following a press statement issued by the Charleston Police Department, Kresha Simmons, who is thirty years old and hails from Charleston, was taken into custody for the offenses of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
During a disagreement on issues relating to work, Simmons is accused of shooting a fellow employee.

The Charleston Police Department said that the shooting took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. inside the restaurant, which can be found at 1 Ashley Point Drive, which is situated directly across the Ashley River. According to the police, the injuries sustained by the victim of the shooting were “non-life threatening” when they were transported to the Medical University of South Carolina.
During the fight, there were people inside the restaurant who were there when the gunfire occurred; however, according to the authorities, no one else was wounded.

The Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center is where Simmons is currently being held pending a bond hearing after he was booked there.
