Chicago White Sox announce new ballpark name for 2025 MLB season leaving fans fuming
The Chicago White Sox have revealed the name of their new ballpark for the 2025 Major League Baseball season.
In association with the Chicago-based private residential mortgage company Guaranteed Rate, the stadium has been known as Guaranteed Rate Field for the past eight years.
In 2016, the business secured a massive 13-year contract and bought the name rights.
However, it was revealed this summer that Guaranteed Rate would be changing its name to Rate.
The White Sox’s stadium name will change as a result.
The stadium will henceforth be referred to as Rate Field.

This week, the White Sox made the announcement on social media.
“We are now renaming this iconic ballpark to Rate Field,” stated Rate CEO Victor Ciardell.
“Throughout this process, Jerry Reinsdorf and his staff have been nothing short of incredible.
“We are quite pleased with our collaboration with the Chicago White Sox on this change.
“We are thrilled to showcase our new name on this legendary ballpark for the best fans inbaseballin the greatest city in the world.”
Following the change, fans quickly posted comments on X, with one user writing: “They removed guaranteed from the name because they cannot guarantee a win next year.”
Another person said, “Because let s be honest, we re in no position to ‘guarantee’ anything.”
One more person said, “Somehow worse than it was before.”
“2024: Guaranteed Rate Field,” another joked. Rate Field, 2025.2026: Field.
This year, the White Sox had the poorest season in Major League Baseball history.
With a 41-121 record, they suffered the most losses in a single campaign.
