At Super Bowl 57, a staggering 115.1 million people watched the Chiefs’ 38–35 victory.
The next year, when 123.7 million people watched the Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, the record was surpassed.

However, the final game this weekend can draw even more spectators.
This is because Nielsen, a measurement company, has expanded its reach in the US.
With its out-of-home analytics method, Nielsen was previously only able to record 66% of event viewers.
However, throughout the past year, that has risen to 100%.
The use of wearable technology on Nielsen’s person panel has grown during the past 12 months in previously inaccessible and isolated locations.
Regarding the growth, Nielsen CEO Karthik Rao stated: “TV has an indisputable ability to unite people.
“And with this out-of-home expansion, we can more accurately provide the industry with the most complete picture of the viewing audience.”
The ratings for Super Bowl LIX, where the Chiefs have the opportunity to make NFL history, will incorporate Nielsen’s extended methodology.
If Andy Reid’s team wins at Caesars Superdome, they might become the first team in history to win three consecutive Super Bowl victories.
