Christian McCaffrey sends message to San Francisco 49ers and NFL after landing on IR and missing rest of season

SAN FRANSICO After being sidelined for the remainder of the season, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has delivered a message to the NFL.

Achilles tendinitis kept McCaffrey out of the first eight games, and he had a PCL injury in his fourth game back, abruptly ending his season.

Now, the emphasis is on recuperation and getting ready for the upcoming campaign, as McCaffrey aims to assist the 49ers in overcoming a dismal 2024.

Despite his difficulties this season, McCaffrey shared a poignant message with his supporters on Instagram.

“Football is the greatest game on the planet to me,” he stated.

“I think he’s doing alright,” stated head coach Kyle Shanahan.

“I believe that for a few days immediately following the incident, he was deeply disappointed. I spoke with him yesterday, and I believe he is coming to terms with it.

“Obviously, given how it began, how hard he pushed to recover, and then his sporadic injury in Buffalo, it’s just not his year.

“I know he is disappointed about the year, but I know he’s excited and hungry as hell to get back to work and get ready for next year.”
