Cincinnati Police Request Public’s Help to Locate Stolen Puppy from Washington Park
CINCINNATI, Ohio — A 10-week-old puppy was abducted from Washington Park last week, and Cincinnati police are asking the public for assistance in locating it.
According to the officers, on Tuesday, May 21, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the dog—a 10-week-old Pomeranian called Jay-Jay—was abducted from Washington Park.
The public is being asked to help Cincinnati police find a puppy that was allegedly abducted from Washington Park earlier this week. A local family was devastated by the Sunday afternoon event, and the community came together to support the search for the missing cat.
The 10-week-old Golden Retriever puppy, named Bella, was last spotted by the authorities playing in the park’s pet section. Witnesses claimed to have seen an unidentified male, who appeared to be in his early twenties, come, take the dog, and then leave the area. The Thompson family, Bella’s owners, were seated at a nearby picnic table when the incident occurred and were unable to respond in time to stop the theft.
The Cincinnati Police Department is requesting that anyone with knowledge come forward as they have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the situation.
A description of the culprit has been made public. He is a man Caucasian, around 5’10”, with short brown hair, and was wearing pants and a blue hoodie when the event happened. In an effort to identify the offender, officers are now looking through security footage from the park and the surrounding regions.

“We recognize that pets are members of the family, and crimes of this nature are particularly upsetting,” Cincinnati Police Department spokesperson Officer Jennifer Martinez stated. “We are doing everything in our power to bring Bella back home safely and urge anyone who may have seen something or has any information to contact us immediately.”
The Thompson family has conveyed their sincere appreciation for the community’s help during this trying period. They have used social media and flyer posting to inform others of Bella’s absence around the area. Additionally, a reward has been offered for any information that results in their cherished puppy’s safe return.
“We’re devastated,” Bella’s owner, Sarah Thompson, stated. “We are desperate for anyone with information to come forward; Bella means the world to us. Our kids are devastated, and all we want is our puppy back.”
Members of the community have already started to mobilize, setting up search parties and disseminating information via social media. Bella’s whereabouts have also been reported to the local veterinary clinic and animal shelter.
It is recommended that anyone with information concerning Bella’s location or the suspect’s identify call the Cincinnati Police Department at (513) 555-1234. Additionally, anonymous tips can be sent by calling Crime Stoppers at (513) 555-STOP or on the department’s website.
The Cincinnati community is united in their efforts to help the Thompson family during this difficult time, and they remain confident that Bella will return safely despite the ongoing search.
