City Leader Expresses Outrage After Officers Allegedly ‘Dump’ Man on Street, Know Actual The Reason
DEBARYLIFE – The president of the Los Angeles City Council is calling for an investigation after two Burbank Police officers were shown on security cameras this week reportedly dropping off a homeless man near his office and driving off while the man lay on the ground.
The video, which Councilman Paul Krekorian made public, shows the two uniformed cops pulling up to the street in North Hollywood on June 6, taking the unnamed man out of their marked car while he was handcuffed, releasing the handcuffs, and driving off as the man seemed to get on all fours.
Thereafter, the shoeless man is seen resting on his stomach on the ground.

At a press conference on Friday, Krekorian said, “This was callously cruel, inhumane, and fundamentally irresponsible.”
There are too many people missing from the annual count of the homeless population in the United States, experts warn.
Following their receipt of the security footage, Krekorian’s office workers managed to locate the individual and secure medical attention for him.
The councilman stated he was furious the officers didn’t try to assist the man.

“Without giving any aid to this person, without determining if anyone could provide services to this person, they dumped him in North Hollywood,” Krekorian stated.
The councilman inquired about the event with the Burbank mayor’s office. According to the city, “an in-depth investigation” is being carried out by the Burbank Police Department.
“We do not take this concern lightly, as the City of Burbank’s foremost priority is to provide our unhoused residents with the support and resources necessary to transition from the streets into stable and secure living conditions,” Nick Schultz, mayor of Burbank, stated in a Friday morning.
The man reportedly sought medical attention at a Burbank hospital, and when he allegedly grew violent, hospital officials phoned the police, according to Krekorian’s office.
The Burbank Police Department provided additional information regarding the man’s interaction with the officers.
A man was found sitting naked at a bus stop on Buena Vista Street and Alameda Avenue, right outside Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, according to a report that was made to the police at approximately 8:45 a.m. PT on Thursday.
Police claimed that the man had his own clothes and had declined an offer of clothing when they encountered him.
Police said that the man informed them he was homeless and that he had been taken from the Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood to the hospital.
According to the person, he had a leg injury from many years ago. The police found out that the person had left the hospital on his own volition before they arrived. Following investigation, the person refused any medical service(s),” the Burbank Police Department stated in a statement.
Why experts claim that some homeless persons are mistakenly thought to be dangerous
According to the police, they “offered to drive the individual to a place of his choosing in order to gain cooperation for the individual to put on clothing,” and he eventually put on clothes.
The man reportedly initially requested to be taken to the Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood, but he then consented to be taken to the Metro Red Line in North Hollywood, as per the police.
The man allegedly requested to be allowed outside to obtain coffee throughout the ride, according to the police.
According to a statement from the Burbank Police Department, “the officers immediately complied with his request, pulled over, and let the individual out of the patrol vehicle.”
According to the police, witness accounts and body-worn cameras are among the pieces of evidence they are examining. They were appreciative of Krekorian for alerting them to it.
Regarding the ongoing crisis of homeless people, the councilman emphasized that law enforcement had to be handling things more carefully.
“If you see it happening to see it on a random security camera, chances are it’s happening a lot more often at times when we don’t see it,” he explained.
