CNN anchor Jim Acosta gives cheeky sign off as his future hangs in the balance after being demoted from morning slot
As rumors concerning CNN anchor Jim Acosta’s future continue to circulate, he made a cheeky promise to viewers that he would continue to report from Washington.
Since renowned journalist Wolf Blitzer, who hosts the politics program The Situation Room, will take Acosta’s mid-morning schedule position, his future with the network is in doubt.
The network will be impacted by a number of changes, including the scheduling shakeup.
As the business intensifies its digital strategy, CNN is laying off about 200 employees.
Acosta took to the air on Thursday and left viewers with a message in spite of the uncertainty.
He said, “Thank you so much for coming this morning.”

A representative informed Fox News Digital, “We are currently in active discussions with Jim regarding a new time slot and will have more information to share soon.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, Acosta might be given a midnight time slot on the East Coast.
Additionally, the site was informed by insiders that Acosta could quit CNN completely.
During the first term of Donald Trump’s presidency, Acosta was a vocal opponent of the president.
In 2018, after a public altercation with the commander-in-chief, his White House press pass was canceled. Later, the pass was made available again.
Before the argument got out of hand, Acosta questioned Trump about an anti-immigration commercial.
CNN changes
Around 200 TV jobs will be eliminated, according to CNN CEO Mark Thompson, as the network changes its approach to concentrate on digital services.
Data scientists and product engineers will be employed by the company.
According to reports, journalist Jim Acosta has been moved to midnight eastern time on the agenda.
The Situation Room, hosted by renowned journalist Wolf Blitzer, will take Acosta’s place in the mid-morning slot.
The mid-morning show will be hosted by Pamela Brown and Blitzer.
As part of their digital plan, Chiefs also want to produce 50 to 100 vertical videos every day.
Additionally, bosses are developing a new streaming service.
Thompson wrote to coworkers, “Some of today’s announcements mean significant new job opportunities at CNN, but others will lead to the loss of some valued colleagues,” according to a memo obtained by The U.S. Sun.
“That is also an undesirable but necessary aspect of the process of change. As soon as we can, we will try to get in touch with every coworker who will be affected by these changes. After that, we will naturally offer them any assistance and support we can. We’ve experienced an amazing news era in the year and a quarter since I joined CNN, and we’ve already made great strides toward our future transition.
“I am grateful to every one of these colleagues for everything they ve done for this company in my time and the years before.”
After a fight between the two guys, Trump informed Acosta I believe I should be allowed to lead the nation. CNN is run by you.
A White House aide attempted to take the microphone away from Acosta as Trump opened the briefing room to additional media.
As Acosta continued to question Trump, the president said, “That’s enough.”
Regarding the claims of Russian collusion, the reporter questioned Trump.
Acosta was repeatedly told to put down the microphone by Trump.
After a while, Acosta put down the microphone before Trump declared that the network should feel embarrassed.
Trump called the reporter awful and impolite.
Jake Tapper has been awarded with a two-hour time slot as a result of the scheduling shift, and his show The Lead will air on the East Coast from 5 to 7 p.m.
From 9 to 10 p.m., Kaitlan Collins, the network’s lead White House correspondent, will present her show, The Source.
