Co-defendant in Georgia RICO Case Denied Motion to Pause Trial Amidst Disqualification Efforts

 

Misty Hampton, a co-defendant alongside Donald Trump in the Georgia RICO case, failed in her bid to halt proceedings. Despite seeking a pause like Trump’s co-defendants, Hampton’s case continues after she was not part of efforts to disqualify DA Fani Willis.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee denied her motion, citing ongoing pretrial motions and the need for judicial efficiency. Hampton faces charges related to election equipment breach and alleged participation in a conspiracy to sway Georgia’s 2020 election results.
