Conor McGregor confident he WILL fight again despite jury finding UFC fighter did assault woman in hotel
Despite being convicted guilty of assault in his most recent civil court battle, Conor McGregor is certain that he will fight again.
The Irish capital’s High Court held a civil hearing last week and found the MMA star liable for assaulting Nikita Hand at the Beacon Hotel in Dublin in 2018.
The 36-year-old McGregor has denied the charges of “raping and battering” Ms. Hand on multiple occasions.
The decision has seriously questioned his fighting career because it ordered him to pay Ms. Hand 206,000 ($250,000) in damages.
However, ‘The Notorious’ is hopeful about making a comeback to the UFC octagonnextyear.
On social media, the former two-division champion posted: “I needed time, but people want to hear from me. I am aware of my errors.

“The lady I love the most in the world is the one I should never have stepped out on. I am solely responsible for that.
“My legal team has been directed to appeal the ruling.
“I will move on since I can’t turn back. I am incredibly appreciative of my family, friends, and supporters who have stood by me throughout the world.
“That’s all. Not any more. Returning to the gym—the battleground is waiting for you!”
Does Conor McGregor have any chance of continuing UFC career?
PRIOR A civil court jury found UFC champion Conor McGregor guilty on Friday of assaulting a woman who said he had raped her in a Dublin hotel.
In December 2018, the 36-year-old was charged with “brutally raping and battering” Nikita Hand.
He will now be required to reimburse Ms. Hand for damages of 248,603.60 euros.
McGregor has promised to appeal even after he lost his case.
There are now questions about the Irishman’s future in MMA and the UFC. Since he was halted against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 due to a broken leg, he has not been in the octagon.
Chisanga Malatahad, SunSport’s lead MMA reporter, has the following thoughts on the matter.
“The decision, which was rendered in a civil court rather than a criminal court, has likely caused the UFC its most significant setback in its 31-year history. Now, MMA leaders will need to make a big choice regarding their poster boy.
“In my opinion, he fights once more. It’s not the first time. Take a look at Jake Paul’s opponent from last week.
“Of course, I’m referring to Mike Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion who was incarcerated for rape in the 1990s. After coming out, he had a prosperous career that earned him millions and millions of pounds till he retired in 2005.
“Unfortunately, it has been done before. However, the UFC must now make a crucial choice. I believe he fights again, as I mentioned. I believe they follow the strategy that was revealed at the UFC 309 post-fight press conference last week, which calls for him to compete in late 2025.
“Even if something of this size can never, ever go away, it’s possible that they chose late 2025 in case McGregor’s side of the case doesn’t win and to give them some time to move on.
“Unless Dana White and all the investors make a spectacular choice and fire their poster boy, I think McGregor will fight again. However, I don’t think that will happen, and I do think he will return to the octagon in the latter part of next year.
“The UFC will need to answer questions, and with good reason. However, more so of Mr. McGregor himself.
Regarding their poster boy’s conviction for the 2018 assault, the UFC has not yet responded.
However, earlier this month, President and CEO Dana White disclosed that the promotion aims to bring Mystic Mac back in late 2025.
During the UFC 309 post-fight press conference, he stated: Conor will return in late 2025.
“It will be a long time before we can determine who will face Conor.”
“There is no doubt that Conor wants to fight,” the 55-year-old continued. He constantly hits me up.
“He didn’t fight in 2024, as I had warned you people he probably wouldn’t.
“He’s going to fight in 2025, probably at the end of the year, if it is earlier that is good for all of us.”
Moments after refusing to talk to the media as he left the courts last week, McGregor, who hasn’t competed since fracturing his left leg more than three years ago, pledged to appeal the decision.
“I will be appealing today’s decision,” he wrote on X.
“The low award and the judge’s order were for assault, not for exemplary or aggravated damages.

“I regret that not all of the evidence that the DPP examined was presented to the jury.
“I am currently with my family and concentrating on my future. I appreciate all of your help around the world.
