Costco members praise $12.97 ‘Madewell jeans dupe’ – but secret number policy means they could be going away
A pair of Madewell jeans should cost at least $50, and that includes the sale.

One customer revealed in a Reddit post that she had heard rumors that Costco’s Kirkland Brand jeans were manufactured in the same plant as Madewell pants.
She promptly bought a pair of Kirkland jeans when she noticed they were on sale for just $12.97.
“It’s been a while since I pulled on a pair of jeans and instantly loved them,” she commented, adding a photo of the straight, high-rise pants below.
The “high quality” jeans, she continued, featured the “same stitching and details” as another pair she had previously purchased from Madewell.

“I highly recommend picking a pair up,” she said at the conclusion.
The customer went on to say, nevertheless, that she had seen a detail in the price tag that led her to believe the jeans might soon be going off the shelves.
“They were $12.97, does that mean they are going away?” she inquired.
“Probably,” someone other wrote in response.
“When items hit *.97 something is going to change: the package is changing, the item itself is changing, or it’s going away temporarily or permanently.”
However, another person countered that “there’s still time to buy” and that the Kirkland jeans are “still regular price online”.
