Cris Collinsworth slammed by NFL fans for making Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce reference in ‘play of the year’
Cris Collinsworth’s call during what may be considered one of the season’s top plays did not impress NFL fans.

Against the San Francisco 49ers, Allen added to his impressive record as MVP.
In the same game, the 28-year-old became the first quarterback to dash for a touchdown, throw a touchdown, and catch a touchdown.
Allen delivered a throw to Amari Cooper in the third quarter, and the two touchdowns—the passing and the catching—came on the same play.
Allen rushed into the end zone after the wide receiver lateraled the football to him.

Collinsworth yelled, “No!” in shock as Allen sprang for the pylon and scored the touchdown in the little seen play.
Then, “That didn’t just happen?” Collinsworth said. earlier his commentary really let fans down.
Regarding the play, he questioned, “Now, how many times have we seen stuff like this out of Kansas City and Travis Kelce?”
Collinsworth mentioned how Kelce and other Chiefs players had a talent for lateralizing the ball after Mahomes passed it to them.
On social media, fans complained about Collinsworth’s call of the play.
“How could Cris Collinsworth remark, ‘That was Kansas City magic!?!?!?’ after praising Travis Kelce for that Bills touchdown? Now he must be doing it deliberately,” one person wrote.
“Only friggen Collinsworth manages to [bring up] Mahomes/Kelce [while] describing an insane Josh Allen play,” another was added.
“Cris Collinsworth there is zero chance you just brought up Travis Kelce and the Chiefs,” another person said.
Adding, “I hate you Cris,” was a fourth.
The 49ers were overwhelmed by Allen and the Bills, who defeated them 35–10.
The Bills won for the tenth time this season.
Buffalo won the AFC East for the fifth time in a row after the victory.
