Cruise ship horror as passenger falls overboard from Ruby Princess during 5-day voyage sparking desperate search
It is believed that an American guest on the Ruby Princess cruise ship perished after falling overboard.
The 72-year-old man vanished during the five-day trip to Mexico that started on November 27, prompting authorities to undertake a desperate hunt for him.
The man, who has not been located, is said to have been traveling alone on the Crown-class cruise.
The man on board may have fallen into the ocean and perished, according to officials looking for him.
The New York Post was informed by a cruise liner representative that the princess collaborated with local officials all day long.
“The ship has been exhaustively searched multiple times without result, and CCTV footage has also been meticulously examined.
“Having ruled out other possibilities, this is being treated as a man overboard incident.”
When the ship docked in California, the inquiry was reportedly taken over by US Customs and Border Protection.
“What information we have to go off kind of makes it a little more difficult,” stated one Coastguard official.
“Searching a wide area of the ocean takes a lot of time, and a lot goes into that.”
