Danger Alert: State Officials Highlight Risks Associated With Weed Soda Brand
DEBARYLIFE – Due to the presence of what they called “prohibited intoxicating ingredients,” state officials are cautioning the public not to drink a certain type of cannabis-infused soda.
On Thursday, the California Department of Public Health declared that Mary Jones hemp-infused drinks were “a risk to consumers” because they contained “prohibited tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) isolate ingredients.”
The beverages are illegal in California but lawful nationwide since they include a THC isolate made from hemp rather than marijuana.
Director of the CDPH Dr. Tomás J. Aragón declared, “California simply will not tolerate the distribution and sale of unsafe, mislabeled, and illegal products that put the public’s health at risk.”
