Decades-old Motorcycle’s Fatal Collision With SUV: South Carolina’s Latest ROAD TRAGEDY
On Wednesday, a motorcycle that was fifty years old was involved in a collision with an SUV, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that the collision resulted in the death of one individual.
Master Trooper Brandon Bolt stated that the collision between two vehicles took place in Laurens County at approximately 1:15 p.m. yesterday.
According to Bolt, a motorcycle manufactured by Honda in 1972 was traveling south on Bellview Church Road when it collided with a Lincoln SUV manufactured in 2007.
According to Bolt, the SUV was traveling north on Bellview Church Road and was making a left turn onto Penland Road at the time of the collision, which resulted in the death of the motorbike rider.
The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has not disclosed the identity of the motorcyclist who was riding the motorcycle.
Bolt stated that the only person in the SUV was the driver, and that the driver was not injured. There was no additional injury that was reported.
The driver of the SUV was not wearing a seat belt, and the rider of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet. There was no information provided.
An investigation into the collision is still being carried out by the Highway Patrol.
Since the beginning of the year 2024, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety has reported that there have been 355 fatalities on the state’s roadways. According to the Department of Public Safety, there were 1,030 fatalities in South Carolina accidents in 2017.
