Deion Sanders breaks silence on Dallas Cowboys coaching links after Michael Irvin’s live pitch to Jerry Jones on Netflix

DEION Sanders broke his silence on being linked with the Dallas Cowboys head coach role.

The NFL Hall of Famer was asked about leaving college football to join one of his former pro teams.

Sanders, 57, has transformed the Colorado Buffaloes during his spell in charge.

His team took down Utah 49-24 on Saturday to stay in the hunt for a place in the College Football Playoff.

Before the game, Sanders and his two sons Shedeur and Shilo were interviewed by Mark Ingram on Fox.

Shedeur and Shilo are stars on Deion’s team and set to be drafted into the NFL next season.

Ingram said, “You’ve been coaching them their whole lives, and it’s probably coming to an end.”

He then added, “It is coming to an end unless you go into the league.”

But Deion interjected immediately and asked Ingram, “What are you trying to say?”

A defensive Ingram declared, “I’m just saying – have you thought about that?”

But Sanders was defiant and told him, “No I haven’t.”

The 57-year-old former receiver and cornerback was on the last Dallas Cowboys team to win a Super Bowl in 1995.

Head coach Mike McCarthy is out of contract at the end of the season.

And owner Jerry Jones has fielded questions on whether he would fire McCarthy during the season.

“I’m good with Mike. I know how hard he works. I like his football mind,” he said.

Jones appeared on Netflix’s broadcast of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Friday night.

‘Match made in heaven’

By Sunni Upal, Deputy U.S. Sports Editor

Deion Sanders becoming head coach of the Dallas Cowboys is a match made in heaven.

It’s been 30 years now since the Cowboys last won a Super Bowl and something has to change.

This is “America’s Team,” but it has become a laughing stock and needs someone to restore them to their past glory.

That candidate who takes over from Mike McCarthy at head coach must have some magic and inspiration.

Step forward, Deion Sanders.

Sanders, 57, is one of the best players to have ever stepped on the field and was on Dallas’ team the last time they won a Super Bowl.

He is quite literally ‘Prime Time’ and that spark is exactly what the Cowboys need.

As for Deion, now is the perfect time for him to move on as well.

He has taken the Buffaloes to new heights both in terms of results and popularity.

His son, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, is also in his senior year in college.

Sanders could probably land a head coaching job on a legitimate national championship contender if he wants to stay in college.

But a chance to coach the Dallas Cowboys may not come calling again.

The fight took place at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.

And Jones was interviewed along with former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin.

Irvin also worked with Sanders at NFL Network recently.

And Irvin said on Netflix, “Everybody loves Mike Tyson, but everybody loves and respects Jake Paul also for what he’s done here.

“To have an ability to not go the normal route and still end up right here. You give him respect.

“I give him respect like I give my great guy Deion Sanders, who didn’t go the normal route.
