Speaking to an enthusiastic audience at the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan on Wednesday, Durhal shared his vision of creating better neighborhoods for all locals.

“This is a powerful city. We’ve heard a lot of talk lately about this city being a city of grit. However, he said, “I think this city is home to some of the most incredible people on the planet.” “We have a long way of restoring the promise to our community that we will keep it safe not just now but for generations to come.”

The city’s crime and homicide statistics in 2024 were the lowest since the 1960s.

Durhal, meantime, expressed gratitude to Mayor Mike Duggan for his efforts but stated that he is prepared to succeed him and advance the city.
