Detroit police arrest 140 in two days during winter warrant sweep

DETROIT (FOX 2):During a two-day winter warrant sweep in Detroit this week, two hundred cops swarmed the streets from dawn till dusk.

“It was a purposeful effort throughout the holidays. According to Detroit Police Commander Anthony O. Rourke, “we do see a spike in crime of different categories.” “This warrant sweep was very specific to gangs and gang members and any warrants they had, whether it be felonies or misdemeanors.”

“Significant amounts of marijuana, heroin, cocaine, fentanyl, a large amount of pills,” O Rourke stated. “It s great when we can get that particular drug off the streets because of the lethality of it.”
