DETROIT (FOX 2):On Wednesday night, a traffic check turned violent, as the suspect’s car dragged a Detroit police officer.
According to DPD, the suspect was shot by the police officer who had been on the passenger side of the vehicle. The suspect drove away, although it was thought that he was unharmed.
As a precaution, the policeman was transported to a neighboring hospital.
We know:
Officers stopped a silver Chevrolet Impala in the 11200 block of Duprey Street, close to Casino Avenue, at 8:10 p.m.
The driver was identified by the officers as a known drug offender. The driver allegedly pulled up his window and refused to let him out of the car.
Then he ran away, dragging the officer at the passenger door before he shot the suspect in self-defense.
The car and suspect are still being sought by Detroit police.
