DETROIT (FOX 2):The search for a missing person in the Rouge River on Friday night has been canceled by rescue personnel.

Just before ten o’clock at night, the hunt for the missing person was called off. The man who ended up in the Rouge River at Ford Street in southwest Detroit was identified by FOX 2 as the individual.

Prior to their conclusion, FOX 2 could inform you that dive teams formed and entered the water, setting up shop close to the relatively new Ford Street Bridge Park area. This is one of the more recent additions to the region where the U.S. Coast Guard, Detroit police, and fire departments all established their stations.

For the duration of the search, the drawbridge in this area was raised.

Authorities received a 911 call earlier on Friday regarding a man who was in the river; he either fell in or jumped in and never surfaced.

The crews will resume their search on Saturday. Earlier, FOX 2 did witness a group of people who looked like relatives.

They were unwilling to comment.
