DETROIT (FOX 2):It’s your day, snow lovers! on Friday, 2025, and it’s a classic.
This is how it goes:
Snow timeline
From 1 p.m. on Friday until 1 a.m. on Saturday, a Winter Weather Advisory will be in force for the entirety of Southeast Michigan.
Around lunchtime, little snow flurries start to fall, dusting the roads and serving as a reminder that winter has definitely come. Don’t be misled, though; that’s only the warm-up.
As the larger snowflakes sweep in, the heavier snowfall occurs between 3 and 4 p.m.
The roads will be slippery by the time the evening commute starts.
Snowfall tapers off around two in the morning after continuing continuously through the evening and into the night.
Ultimately, the most of us will awaken on Saturday morning to a layer of two to three inches of newly fallen snow. Even though it’s not a particularly strong storm, it’s sufficient to get the shovel or start the snowblower before breakfast.
Road conditions Friday
As snow builds up, especially after dusk, roads may get treacherous. Use caution when driving, particularly during rush hour tonight when visibility may deteriorate and untreated surfaces may become slippery.
Saturday forecast
The snow isn’t going gone anytime soon because Saturday’s high will be in the upper 20s to low 30s. This is the perfect reason to pull out your winter clothing and engage in some snowball wars.
Enjoy the first true taste of winter this season, bundle up, and drive carefully. Finally, it’s here.
