Devastating News! NYC Bat Attack Suspects Identified in Newly Released Video, Police Report

NEW YORK —

According to authorities, the criminals who attacked a woman last week on a street in New York City with a baseball bat are captured in new footage.

They can be seen in the footage strolling along a sidewalk while one of them is on the phone. Whether the footage was shot before or after the incident is unknown.

According to police, the woman was attacked on Lower Manhattan’s Monroe Street at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

When the suspects approach from behind, surveillance footage shows her retrieving her cell phone from her bag. While the other repeatedly strikes her with the baseball bat, one punches her.

The suspects fled empty-handed, despite what the investigators say was an attempt to steal her backpack.

The relatives of the victim told CBS New York that “the shouts of passersby and the courageous intervention of community members scared off the perpetrator and prompted a timely call for help, averting potentially more severe consequences.”

According to the family, the victim is scared to go back to work.

According to family members, the victim had just finished working at the daycare across the street when the incident happened. They claimed that she is now terrified to return to her work.

The mother, who is 58 years old, has bruises on her leg and head. She is recuperating at home, but her family claims she still requires assistance with everyday tasks.

“Our family is deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence, and we believe it is essential to share her story to raise awareness and seek justice,” the statement read.
