Draymond Green sends clear message to Jordan Poole over two years after punching former Warriors teammate in practice

After hitting Jordan Poole in the face more than two years ago, DRAYMOND GREEN has apologized, but he issued a strong warning to his former teammate.

Following the former Golden State Warrior’s cordial reception at the Chase Center, the four-time NBA champion wrote a lengthy letter to Poole.

Poole made it clear that he “loves most of the guys over there” on Saturday.

Green commented “I really am sorry” on social media following the comments.

“Let it go” and “move on” are two more things that Green said after extending his apologies to Poole, who is currently with the Washington Wizards.

In October 2022, a few months after the Warriors’ championship victory, footage surfaced showing Green hitting Poole in the face.

Following their verbal disagreement, Green approached Poole, who shoved the center before Green punched Poole to the ground.

Green did not miss any games or face NBA disciplinary action, but he did publicly apologize, receive a fine, and voluntarily leave the franchise.

Although he stayed for the remainder of the season and was a vital member of that squad, Poole later attributed their early 2023 playoff exit to that punch.

Then, in exchange for Chris Paul, he was traded to the Wizards.

“I responded because it’s been three years,” Green continued in an interview with Baron Davis on his podcast.

“Let’s go on, please. We’ve moved on. I apologize sincerely.

“It seemed like Poole was trying to win over some sympathy by portraying me as the villain in that remark.

“Go on, dude. It is what it is. I apologize. I should have refrained from punching him. However, it did occur. Let’s go on.

“I kind of go back and forth with this,” Green continued.

“You can’t push a man and call him a B-word and not get hit, too, even though I know I was mistaken.

“So, I occasionally sit in both of those areas.

“The truth is that the answer is most likely in the middle, isn’t it?

“That was not the right way for me to knock him out. I should have hemmed him up, if anything. It was a sort of instinctive response.

“I believe you are sort of bringing that back on yourself for him.
