A $10 common kitchen gadget that can remove ice off your automobile in a matter of seconds has drivers talking.

Across the country, Thanksgiving week has delivered very cold weather and powerful snowstorms.

Cars have been left trapped in the travel mayhem, and flights have been canceled.

While much of the Midwest is seeing lows in the 20s or 30s, temperatures in the far north have dipped as low as 5F overnight.

However, many drivers wake up to the sight of a frozen windshield following cold nights, so the deep freeze might wreck your trip before you even leave.

This occurs when airborne moisture is quickly cooled by dropping temperatures, resulting in condensation on the glass.

The condensation then freezes as the temperature falls below zero, creating a tenacious coating that blocks your view.

Regretfully, you must get things resolved entirely before you leave.

In addition to being risky, failing to do so could result in you being fined heavily if police officers catch you.

However, drivers on the internet have proposed a workaround that uses a common kitchen cabinet item.

There may be a faster way, but no one enjoys standing for thirty minutes while using an ice scraper.

To remove the ice, Reddit users suggested using a traditional corn broom.

The broom is easier to maneuver and has more leverage than a standard ice scraper because of its rough bristles and lengthy handle.

To make the ice coating easier to break up, it can also be used to tap away at it.

“I live in Boston, so we get a fair share of snow,” one delighted user commented.

“You can either use a garage or a carport, but if you don’t want to do either, turn the car’s heat up to high and turn on the rear and front defrosters.

“Go brew some coffee.

“Come out with an old corn cob broom and just push the snow off.”
