Drug Trafficking Alert! Philadelphia Man Arrested With 106 Bricks of Fentanyl and Heroin

On Tuesday, the Drug Task Force of the Berks County District Attorney’s Office, in conjunction with the Philadelphia Drug Enforcement Administration, arrested a man who is suspected of selling and transporting illegal substances in Berks County.

Among the charges that have been brought against Ramon Alberto Jimenez-Merejildo, who is 35 years old, are possession and delivery of a controlled substance, possession with the purpose to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the Berks County District Attorney’s office, according to the findings of the investigation that took place in March 2024, Jimenez-Merejildo was reportedly selling fentanyl and heroin in Philadelphia and was shipping huge quantities of the illegal drugs to Berks County for distribution to distribute them.

During the investigation, the suspect allegedly made many purchases of the substances from law enforcement personnel, according to the officials. It was reported by authorities that Jimenez-Merejildo was selling the potentially dangerous product in Berks County and storing it at his residence, which was located on the 7100 block of Brous Avenue in the Mayfair neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Jimenez-Merejildo was observed leaving his residence on Tuesday, April 30, and driving to Berks County, where he was taken into custody a few days later. Within his vehicle, the authorities discovered 106 “bricks” of fentanyl and heroin, according to the police.

A search warrant was also issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for his residence in Philadelphia. According to the District Attorney, the DEA discovered 257 bricks of fentanyl/heroin, $3,407, 200 grams of bulk fentanyl, and a digital scale.

As the investigation progressed, a second search warrant was obtained for a different location in Philadelphia. During the search, the authorities discovered a total of 16,700 packets of fentanyl and heroin, 11.5 kilograms of bulk fentanyl, packaging materials and paraphernalia, and fentanyl and heroin stamps that read “Redbull,” “Gladiator,” “Apple Jacks,” and “Apple.”

According to the statement made by the District Attorney’s office, the total street value of the illegal narcotics was believed to be more than 8 million dollars. At the time of his arraignment, Jimenez-Merejildo was granted a bond of $600,000.
