Ellen DeGeneres moves to the UK countryside and is ‘never coming back’ to US as she lists $27m Montecito mansion
According to reports, Ellen DeGeneres and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, have relocated to England and are “never coming back” to the United States.
The 51-year-old actress Portia and the 66-year-old former talk show host have already moved to the Cotswolds, a rural area in the south of the United Kingdom.
The Wrap claims that Ellen’s $27 million Montecito property is quietly for sale, and that the move was spurred by President Trump’s recent election.
Former employees and guests on Ellen’s talk show accused her of encouraging a hazardous workplace in 2020.
Since then, she has made jokes about getting “kicked out of show business.”
Ellen recently stated, “I decided to take up gardening,” in a comedy special on Netflix.

‘I AM SORRY’
In September 2020, during her opening monologue for Season 18, Ellen addressed the allegations of a terrible workplace.
“As you may have heard, there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show this summer, and then there was an investigation,” she said during the speech.
“I learned that things happened here that never should have happened.”
She said, “I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected.”
Afterwards, Ellen added, “There were also articles in the press and on social media that said, I am not who I appear to be on TV because I became known as the Be Kind lady.”
“Being the Be Kind lady is a difficult position to be in… the truth is that I am that person that you see on TV,” she clarified. I am many other things, too.
“I get depressed sometimes. I get angry. I became nervous. I become irritated. I am working on improving my impatience. I’m still developing.
