Emotional Bijan Robinson close to tears after Atlanta Falcons narrowly miss out on NFL playoffs with Panthers loss

Bijan Robinson, the great running back for the Atlanta Falcons, cried up when his team was cruelly eliminated from the playoffs.

Sunday’s Week 18 regular-season finale saw the Falcons lose to the Carolina Panthers 44-38.

In Atlanta’s final game of the regular season, Robinson was dominant from beginning to end.

With 28 rush attempts and two touchdowns, including two three-yard grabs, the 22-year-old gained a career-high 170 rushing yards.

However, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ victory over the New Orleans Saints ended the Falcons’ chances of making the playoffs.

If they had won and the Bucs had lost, they would have taken home the NFC South.

The second-year Robinson was on the edge of tears as he spoke about the season and his future following the home loss.

“It’s difficult, you know. According to Kelly Price of Fox 5 Sports, Robinson stated, “It’s difficult not reaching the goals you guys have set, you know as a team, falling short of that.”

“And we had such a positive outlook that we wanted to go out there and win every single play or game.

However, we are aware that we must perform it each and every week in the NFL. On the field, we cannot stop ourselves from doing anything.

“I’m prepared to leave. I could play another season today, for example. “That’s how excited I am about what we have,” Robinson continued.

“And I think that this offense in this team shows what we can do and how it s supposed to be.”

For the seventh year in a row, the Falcons failed to make the playoffs.

They let the Carolina team, which now has five wins, score 40 points for the first time since Week 9 of the 2018 campaign.

In overtime, the Panthers marched down the field before running back Miles Sanders finished the game with a one-yard touchdown. On Sunday, the Panthers amassed 425 total yards.

Michael Penix Jr., the rookie quarterback for Atlanta, finished the day with 21 of 38 passes for 312 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

He hurried for a touchdown as well.

Robinson completed the season with 304 rush attempts, 1,456 rushing yards, and 14 touchdowns.
