On January 9, a 60-year-old guy from Erie attempted to rob Chase Bank in Taylor, but the teller refused to give him even $1 before he departed.

At around 2:00 p.m., the man reportedly went into the bank on Northline Road and instructed the teller to “give me the money.”

His hand was in his pocket, indicating that he might be carrying a weapon, but he had no note. According to the police, the teller asked the would-be thief, “are you serious?” and he gave him the money again.

According to the police, she still didn’t believe the man and took one dollar out of her drawer. When he grabbed for it, she withdrew it, and he left the bank empty-handed.

He was apprehended at the Red Roof Inn, which is close to the bank, while operating a “distinctive” vehicle.
