One of the most important days on the NBA calendar is Christmas Day.
Historically, it was the first time during the season that games were shown on national network television.
The NBA Cup finals earlier in December in Las Vegas changed that in recent years.
In recent years, the NFL has also competed against the NBA on Christmas Day.

With two football games streaming live on Netflix this year, it has gotten more intense.
Christmas games were often only scheduled by the NFL when they fell on Thursday, Sunday, or Monday, which are normal gamedays.
