Between September and November 2024, “at least nine professional athletes” were targeted, according to the FBI.
The crew, who are said to be from South America, allegedly monitors their targets using advanced technology and tried-and-true methods before planning and executing their crimes.
This includes keeping an eye on public information and carrying out physical surveillance.
In order to find patterns in a possible victim’s life and strike while they are away from home, the team will use social media and their itinerary.
Additionally, they will use postings to target expensive objects and collect data using any interior photos.
ABC News got a report from the FBI that was titled ‘Information Liaison Report’.
It stated: “Because it is believed that these residences may contain expensive items like jewelry, watches, designer handbags, and cash, they are frequently the target of burglaries.
“Some burglaries happen when occupants are home, but most burglaries happen when residences are empty.
“In these instances, individuals are encouraged to seek law enforcement help and avoid engaging with criminals, as they may be armed or use violence if confronted.”
The crime ring employs “Wi-Fi jammers to block Wi-Fi connections and disable devices, cover security cameras, and obfuscate their identities,” the investigation continued.
According to the U.S. Sun, Kelce had over $100,000 worth of jewels stolen and lost his first Super Bowl jersey.
After his own house was broken into during the Cincinnati Bengals’ Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys in early December, Joe Burrow looked like he was about to cry.
