Ex-Obama adviser flew to UK to rape girl, 9, and brought suitcase packed with condoms and cuddly toys

In order to rape a nine-year-old girl, a former assistant to Barack Obama traveled to the UK.

Rahamim Shy, 47, an investment banker, traveled from New York to Bedfordshire to see the schoolgirl. He even packed toys and condoms in his suitcase.

On a messaging app and internet forum, the deranged predator told someone he thought was the girl’s grandmother about the horrible things he was preparing.

However, the individual going by “Debbie” was actually a phony account made by a Bedfordshire Police officer.

Shy was found guilty at Luton Crown Court last year and was sentenced to 11 and a half years in jail yesterday.

The court heard him say that it was a “honor” to be “her first” and that the girl was nine years old, which was a “tad late” age to begin sexual activity.

On February 23 of last year, Shy drove to Bedford after taking a plane to Gatwick airport, where he was detained right away.

After his detention, officers discovered condoms and a number of adorable toys in his luggage.

“A clear intent to win the child over before abusing her” was the argument put forth by the prosecution.

Following his arrival in the UK, Shy attempted to remove the “depraved messages” he had sent; nonetheless, messages recovered from his phone indicate he had spoken to others about his sexual interest in youngsters.

Police also found offensive pictures of minors on his phone.

He was convicted of both possessing offensive kid photos and planning the conduct of a child sex offense.

The Crown Prosecution Service’s Lorraine Telford called Shy “a predator” following her punishment.

“Rahamim Shy is a predator who was completely ready to carry out disgusting acts against a child for his own sexual gratification,” she stated.

His detailed chats and the objects he carried to England made it quite evident that his sole goal was to rape a youngster he knew to be at risk.

It is a credit to the police operation and subsequent prosecution that Shy will no longer be an immediate threat, regardless of the fact that the child in this case did not exist.

“All children have the right to feel safe and protected, and I hope this conviction sends a clear message that the CPS, working closely alongsidelawenforcement, will relentlessly pursue justice and prosecute those who seek to sexually exploit children.”
