Ex-Police Officer Declines to Testify in Trial for Teen’s Kidnapping and Murder

Miles Bryant, a former officer with the Doraville Police Department, has opted not to testify in his defense against charges of kidnapping, attempted rape, and the murder of 16-year-old Susanna Morales. Despite his lawyer’s initial claim that he would take the stand, Bryant’s decision came after hearing the prosecution’s case.

Morales’ skeletal remains were found seven months after her disappearance, with Bryant’s gun nearby. Cell phone data placed Bryant at the scene, and Detective Angela Carter testified that he searched online for information about decomposing bodies and tracked news on Morales’ case.
