Exclusive: Police Release Surveillance Footage of Possible Suspect in Northeast Shooting Investigation
WASHINGTON: D.C. police are looking into a shooting that happened over the weekend in the Northeast and injured one man.
Recently made public surveillance footage may be able to help investigators solve the case as they hunt for the shooter.
They are hoping that someone may be able to identify the subject and the blue vehicle that was seen on a gas station’s security footage.
The Metropolitan Police Department has released data for 2024 that indicates a decline in both violent and property offenses as of this writing in 2023.
However, a closer examination of the month-over-month data shows that the emergency legislation passed by the D.C. Council in July of last year coincided with a decline in several significant categories.
On Sunday, there was a gunshot in a neighborhood off of North Carolina Avenue Northeast.
A blue Honda vehicle with dark, tinted windows is seen pulling up to the gas pump at the Exxon gas station in surveillance footage.
Shortly after, the subject of interest exits the vehicle and approaches the cashier; he is seen making a payment on another camera.
According to the police, this individual may have shot a second man on Sunday night at around ten o’clock. The shot man made it out alive.
A reward of up to $10,000 is offered to anyone whose information results in an arrest and conviction.
Anyone with knowledge regarding the shooting is being urged by the police to come forward.
