Fatal ATV Crash: 70-Year-Old Woman Passes Away in Nevada County

NEVADA COUNTY, California —

An ATV crash on private land in south Nevada County on Monday claimed the life of a 70-year-old lady, according to officials.

The crash was reported at the location along Springfield Drive, east of Dog Bar Road, at approximately 8:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Susan McFarlane executed a hazardous turning maneuver with a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak quad, according to CHP officers from the Grass Valley division.

She perished at the site after being ejected from the car when it overturned, according to CHP.

At the time of the collision, McFarlane was not wearing a helmet, the CHP said. It is not suspected that alcohol or drugs are involved.

The property where the crash occurred was not identified by CHP.
