Fired Taylor Target employee returns in uniform to steal items, crashes while fleeing

After Target employees dialed 911, he drove off in his car heading north on Pardee as police arrived on the scene.

(FOX 2) Taylor, Mich.According to authorities, an ex-Target employee stopped stealing on Tuesday morning after reportedly returning multiple times.

Earlier this month, the seasonal worker was let go from the Taylor store.

Lt. Anthony Neal of Taylor police stated, “We received a call from Target, they had a former employee who was stealing from their location.” “The same employee was believed to have stolen from them in the past.”

According to authorities, the guy was wearing employee attire on Tuesday when he entered Target before the store opened. He allegedly attempted to open a register after that.

After Target employees dialed 911, he drove off in his car heading north on Pardee as police arrived on the scene.

Police claim that he stole a $425 PlayStation 5 and a $250 pair of Apple AirPods from Target, which were found inside his car.

“His speeds reached somewhere between 90 and 100 miles an hour,” Lieutenant Neal stated. “We had to terminate his pursuit because it was not worth the public safety danger.”

However, the same individual was soon involved in another scene that police were attending to.

“He caused a crash at Pardee and Goddard striking two other vehicles,” Neal stated.

The other parties were not affected in the collision, but their cars were damaged, and the suspect was the only one hurt.

Police claim to have recovered the stolen items from the crash site.

“He was not cooperative at the hospital and had to be treated and perhaps sedated,” Neal stated.
