First Alert Weather Issues Red Alert for Severe Memorial Day Storm, What Is The Weather Prediction?
NEW YORK — Due to the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms on Monday night, a Red Alert has been issued.
We had an amazing start to the Memorial Day weekend. Sunday will see more of the same bright and warm weather as Saturday.
Later on Saturday night, a few showers are expected, but nothing significant or widespread is predicted. With some fog developing late, lows will mostly be in the 60s.
Sunday’s outlook
With highs in the mid-to upper-80s, Sunday promises to be an amazing day. It will be a great day to visit the beach because there won’t be as many rip currents and the temps will be milder along the coast.
Later throughout the day, when the humidity begins to rise, a stray shower or storm is possible. If not, there ought to be sufficient sunlight available.
The Prediction for Monday
Sadly, Memorial Day will most likely bring the amazing weather to an end. Showers with periods of rain are predicted throughout the early morning and late afternoon.

The conditions for a Red Alert will take effect after 6 p.m. Thunderstorms ranging from strong to severe are expected until midnight. There could be hail, strong winds, and torrential rain during the storms.
By then, a highly humid airmass will be in place, giving the storms plenty of moisture to work with and raising the possibility of flash flooding. Northwest of the city areas would be most likely to see flooding. It will only get as high as the mid-70s.
