Five survivors ‘were found INSIDE capsized Egypt yacht in air pocket’ as search for two Brits continues
According to reports, five people were discovered in an air pocket within the sunken Egyptian boat.
Following the Sea Story dive boat’s tragic Monday morning sinking in the Red Sea, two British nationals are still missing.
According to an anonymous government official quoted by AFP, rescue crews looking for survivors discovered five people inside a chamber of the capsized ship that had not yet been flooded with water on Tuesday morning.
When the boat sank, there were 13 crew members and 31 visitors on board.
As stated by Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafis on Tuesday, “rescue operations are ongoing today, supported by a military helicopter and a frigate in addition to multiple divers.”
Additionally, he said that several people were unable to exit the boat because they were inside the staterooms.

According to the governor, two Belgians, a Swiss national, a Finnish tourist, and an Egyptian were saved by military divers.
There are now 33 survivors, four of whom have been officially declared deceased and seven of whom are still unaccounted for.

The Sea Story boat headed south toward Marsa Alam, where it sank, after departing Porto Ghalib Port for a multi-day diving excursion off the coast of the popular vacation destination.
According to survivors, they overheard travelers yelling from within their cabins.
When the deadly wave hit at around 5:30 am local time, according to one of the British tourists who were saved, it was completely dark.
They remembered how the powerful current tore through the boat after the devastating waves and strong gusts, almost choking them.
“I was on the surface when things started to go wrong,” the visitor stated. I attempted to cling to something solid as I sensed the boat tilting suddenly, but the capsizing happened very quickly.
“I heard screams from inside the cabins, but many were unable to get out because the doors were closed and the place was filled with water.”
Before the boat abruptly vanished from the radar and lost all communication, a crew member sent out a distress signal from the vessel.
After witnesses reported seeing a “abnormally large” wave strike the tragic yacht barely five minutes before it capsized, the vessel sank.
A professional diver has described what he witnessed while out on the water when the wave slammed the yacht.
They claimed that when everything began to go awry, I was on the surface. I attempted to cling to something solid as I sensed the boat tilting suddenly, but the capsizing happened very quickly.
“I heard screams from inside the cabins, but many were unable to get out because the doors were closed and the place was filled with water.”
The UK Foreign Office said that “a number of British nationals and their families” are also receiving support.
Despite Hurghada authorities closing the city’s port and operations on Sunday owing to inclement weather, the yacht remained on the ocean.
