Flint man charged in Oxford shooting that left 1 person dead, 2 others injured

A Flint man has been charged with 19 felonies, including felony murder, in connection with the Oxford shooting on Christmas Eve that claimed one life and injured two more. According to authorities, Dr. Barbara Wolf was shot and killed by 29-year-old Malik Letroy Webb after she stopped to help him when his car crashed into a ditch at Ray Road and North Oxford Road at approximately 6:15 PM on December 24. Additionally shot during the altercation was Wolf’s 38-year-old daughter, who was a passenger in her vehicle.

Oxford, Michigan (FOX 2) –A Flint man has been charged with 19 felonies, including felony murder, in connection with the Oxford shooting on Christmas Eve that claimed one life and injured two more.

According to authorities, Dr. Barbara Wolf was shot and killed by 29-year-old Malik Letroy Webb after she stopped to help him when his car crashed into a ditch at Ray Road and North Oxford Road at approximately 6:15 PM on December 24. Additionally shot during the altercation was Wolf’s 38-year-old daughter, who was a passenger in her vehicle.

Another Oxford man, 56, was shot in the arm after stopping to assist. In an unsuccessful carjacking attempt, Webb allegedly held a 39-year-old Oxford Township woman at gunpoint. After being taken to the hospital, Dr. Wolf passed away from her wounds.

Her daughter is still in critical condition at the hospital. Since then, one of the other injured victims has been freed after receiving treatment.

“This violent and heinous act is tragic on every level,” stated Michael Bouchard, the sheriff for Oakland County. In this instance, a convicted felon with a history of gun-related offenses was once again permitted to return to society and injure people. This needless killing may have been avoided.

Currently being held without bond, Webb, a convicted criminal, was arraigned today in Novi’s 52-1 District Court. He is accused of the following:

Carjacking as the underlying criminal in a felony murder caseThree charges of intentional murderous attackThree felonious assault chargesCarjackingHaving a concealed firearm on handGun ownership by a restricted individualNine counts of third-time criminal firearm possession. Webb faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of release if found guilty of criminal murder.
