Florida Man Arrested for Reckless Driving, Clocks 113 mph on I-4, Deputies Report
DELTONA, Florida – After they claim the man fled on I-4 on Saturday at a speed of over 113 mph, Volusia County deputies arrested him.
According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, a deputy chased a BMW X3 as it raced off on I-4 on the final day of a traffic enforcement operation outside Deltona.
The motorist, 29-year-old Kissimmee resident Kevin Olivo Rivera, a convicted felon, is said to have driven as fast as 113 mph to get away from the trooper, according to the sheriff’s office.
The pursuit eventually came to a halt when the car’s tires were flattened by another cop throwing a stop stick.
Olivo Rivera threw a firearm into the neighboring woods, according to the sheriff’s office, and a K9 unit discovered it later. Along with 165 rounds of ammo, deputies reported finding “cocaine, oxycodone, MDMA, alprazolam, and marijuana from inside the rented vehicle.”
After being taken into prison, the suspect exclaimed, “I can’t believe this man, why?”
The suspect said he didn’t have a license when questioned why he wouldn’t stop over.
