Friends find 1950s Harley Davidson after paying $960 for abandoned storage unit – then they discover the real jackpot

A GROUP of friends who pitched in $960 for a storage unit got a huge shock after seeing the antique treasures that lay waiting inside.

The crew was elated to find a vintage 1950s Harley Davidson bike worth tens of thousands of dollars, but the real treasure was parked right beside it.

YouTubers What The Hales purchased the unit in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2019 and split the findings with their friend Rob.

The Hales are pro thrifters and shared the video to show how taking a gamble at auctions can lead to a huge payout.

They scored an incredible deal because it was the final unit sold that day, meaning most of the other bidders had left for the day or spent their budget.

After excitedly opening the unit, the Hales were left utterly speechless at what they saw.

Parked in the middle, the unit was an immaculate orange Dodge Charger that was decked out with a gorgeous black interior and sparkling finish.

The hood had been popped, so the YouTubers cracked it open and found a powerful Chrysler V8 Hemi engine.

However, the lucky buyers were devastated after learning they couldn’t actually keep the beautiful gem.

“Everything in the unit is split amongst us, except for the car,” George Hales said.

That’s because the muscle car had a lien on it, so if it was abandoned by the owners, it must be turned in to anyone who was owed money.

Although the sad news left the buyers feeling blue, what lay behind the ride instantly got their spirits up.

After squeezing past the charger to the back of the unit, the YouTubers discovered a dust-covered Harley in great condition.

Though it was covered in dirt, the vintage ride appeared to have a fully intact engine and had only amassed 150 miles.

It’s unclear whether it could run, but the Harley brand is so beloved by enthusiasts, that the Hales knew they could turn a profit.

They guessed the bike was from the 1950s or the 1960s, and figured some super fans could spend upwards of tens of thousands of dollars on the ride.

However, they weren’t sure if it was a rare model, and said they would need a specialist to appraise it.

Also, in the storage unit, the lucky thrifters found a car lift, which they said could nab them an easy $2,000 buck.

They uncovered gorgeously preserved film cameras, as well as a massive auto shop sign that could be snagged by antique lovers.

Although the YouTubers were sad to see the Dodge Charger go, they signed the layer of dust with their fingers, writing “What The Hales was here.”

Motorcyclists will be excited to learn that new Harley-Davidson models are expected to hit the market in 2026.
