Fugitive Brit murder suspect, 21, hands himself in to Greek cops because he’s HOMESICK after 18 months on the run

After growing homesick, a FUGITIVE murder suspect wanted in connection with the senseless killing of a “beautiful and kind” kid turned himself in to Greek police.

After being on the run for almost 18 months, 21-year-old Thomas Dures appeared in court in Athens Wednesday and pleaded for his immediate return to Britain.

Before his assault trial in Mykonos, he was defended by the same Greek attorney that Manchester United defender Harry Maguire had retained.

Following a fight outside a bar in Ormskirk, Lands, last July that resulted in 19-year-old Matthew Daulby being stabbed in the chest, Dures left the UK.

In order to find their culprit, officers relocated their hunt to Spain and offered a 20,000 reward for information.

Anyone who knew Dures’ whereabouts was encouraged to “please do the right thing” by Matthew’s distraught parents, who were crying.

Mom, 64, MISSING in Jamaica as cops hunt husband who was murder suspect

“It is not natural to outlive your children, and the grief and the pain are with us every day,” his mother, Angela, said.

“Every day I just wake up and think what I would give to have just five more minutes with Matthew.”

According to Mrs. Daulby, her kid is “kind, polite, and caring.”

After being found guilty of his murder, one man, Henry Houghton, 20, has already served at least 20 years in prison.

Before being stabbed, Houghton disoriented Matthew by hitting him in the head with a rock in a sock, according to testimony given to a Preston Crown Court jury.

However, the prosecution acknowledged that he was not accountable for the lethal blow.

Shortly before Dures turned himself up, Alexis Anagnostakis, who will lead Maguire’s defense team when the football player goes on trial in March of next year, was contacted on Monday.

According to reports, Dures entered a local police station in the southern Athens suburb of Ilioupoli while being led by the attractive attorney.

“We were shocked to see this young man say he was wanted in England and he wanted to surrender,” a police source said.

“He was brought to cells in a larger station after making his statement.

According to Anagnostakis, “He surrendered voluntarily and he requested proceedings be fast-tracked so he can be home before Christmas.”

Yesterday, Dures made an appearance in the Greek capital before a prosecutor from the appeals court.

He was brought to the Korydallos prison in Athens, where he will be held for a minimum of ten days.

In the upcoming days, he is anticipated to appear before an appeals court judge to have his formal request for extradition considered.

He will be escorted back to the UK by British police who are scheduled to fly to Greece.
