Gavin Newsom vows to confront Trump on tarmac when he lands in LA despite not being invited as nasty feud heats up
When President Donald Trump lands in Los Angeles today, California Governor Gavin Newsom has promised to meet him on the tarmac.
The Democrat has pledged to provide Trump with a warm welcome as he visits areas devastated by the catastrophic wildfires.
Since January 7, there have been wildfires, and the Hughes Fire, which began on January 22, is still burning in Los Angeles County.
The state’s Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reports that nine fires are raging throughout the state at the moment.
In all, the flames have destroyed at least 16,000 buildings, burned over 50,000 acres of land, and claimed at least 28 lives throughout the state.
This afternoon, Trump and First Lady Melania will touch down at the Los Angeles airport.

According to the CW station KTLA-TV, the First Family will be visiting a region devastated by the Palisades fire.
Additionally, Trump is scheduled to visit a fire station and participate in a roundtable discussion.
Newsom will greet the president, but he will not be traveling with Trump.
However, Newsom will be waiting for him at the base of Air Force One’s stairs.
“We’re making sure that all the resources he needs for a successful briefing are being provided to him,” he told reporters, adding that he was excited to be on the tarmac to greet and thank the president.
The resources we will offer for that briefing are unlimited.
On multiple instances, Trump and Newsom have disagreed about how to handle the wildfires.
If Newsom doesn’t move more water from the state’s north to its south, the president has threatened to stop providing federal assistance.
This week, Trump told Fox Newsstar Sean Hannityearlier that he may release the water coming from the north.
Massive volumes of water, including mountain and rainwater, combine with the snow and melt as it falls, causing so much water that it is being released into the Pacific Ocean.
As he attacked Newsom, Trump likened the events in Los Angeles to the detonation of a nuclear bomb.
He said, “What happened to the state is unbelievable.”
Newsom has been blamed by Trump.
“I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to flow into California,” Trump declared in a lengthy Truth Social outburst just days before taking office.
He is responsible for this.
Furthermore, there is no water for fire hydrants or firefighting aircraft. A real catastrophe.
Trump’s claims that the problem is water availability were quickly rejected by officials.
It’s his fault.
Newsom has advocated putting aside partisan point-scoring ever since Trump took office.
“In the face of one of the worst natural disasters in America shistory, this moment underscores the critical need for partnership, a shared commitment to facts, and mutual respect values that enable civil discourse, effective governance, and meaningful action,” he stated in a press release.
However, he has criticized Trump for allegedly spreading false information.
More than 10,000 acres have burned in the Hughes Fire, which is hurting people in Los Angeles County.
Officials say that 56% of it is contained.
More than two weeks after it started, the Palisades fire, which started on January 7, is currently 77% contained.
Over 23,000 acres have been destroyed by the Palisades fire, which is still raging.
After scorching more than 14,000 acres of property over the course of more than two weeks, the Eaton Fire is now 95% contained.
