Gen Zs reveal their biggest work fears – from dread of not looking the part to having to present in front of others

Among the things that cause Gen Z the greatest worry at work are juggling work-life balance, giving presentations in front of an audience, and not drinking enough water.

According to a survey of 2,000 adults, 26% of those under 24 worry about a lack of organization, but only 10% of workers over 55 feel the same way.

Additionally, only 5% of young employees reported that nothing causes them any concern at work, compared to 40% of those who have been employed for decades.

Gen Z workers also experience job anxiety due to not being able to complete duties on time, needing to have unpleasant talks with managers, and even just appearing the part.

Additionally, it was discovered that 18% of young workers claimed that Sunday evenings are one of the most regular times they experience the dread of what lies ahead, while 20% said the same about Monday mornings.

“Many of us feel anxious before a big work week, and many find organization and planning to be the source of their stress,” stated a spokesman for Google’s AI Assistant, Gemini Live, which commissioned the study.

AI assistants are ideally suited to handle these issues and reduce the stress associated with the contemporary 9–5.

According to the report, only 45% of Gen Z employees believe they have a good work-life balance, compared to 58% of millennials and 61% of those who have worked for ten or more years.

However, 46% of Gen Zers attempt to organize their days in an effort to reduce anxiety about the next week, and 13% use AI to help them better manage their workload.

In contrast, only 2% of people over 55 depend on contemporary technology to facilitate their daily tasks.

Additionally, a quarter of Gen Z employees take regular breaks, and 17% will discuss their concerns with friends and coworkers.

Employees under 25 who were asked how an AI tool could help them deal with their work-related anxiety preferred customized relaxation plans that included breathing techniques, meditation, and to-do lists to schedule chores in advance.

Additionally, 40% would use technology to assist in creating snack or meal plans.

It can be difficult to navigate the modern workplace, particularly around this time of year when burnout is at its highest, according to digital creator and entrepreneur Caspar Lee, who has partnered with Google’s Gemini Live.
