Georgia Beauty Queen Arrested for Alleged MURDER of Boyfriend’s TODDLER SON
A former beauty queen from Georgia has been detained and charged with the killing of an 18-month-old kid, authorities said.
Trinity Poague, 18, was arrested on Friday, according to online Sumter County Sheriff’s Office jail records. According to a news release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Georgia Southwestern State University Police Department called them to investigate the child’s death at about 2 p.m. on Jan. 14.
The youngster had been taken to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus. Hospital staff attempted to save him, but he died. After conducting interviews and reviewing evidence, GBI officials apprehended Poague.
She is the current Miss Donalsonville. Cecilia Smith, the toddler’s father’s closest friend, identified the victim as Jaxton “JD” Williams. Smith has set up a GoFundMe page to help the heartbroken father, whom she has identified as Julian “Ja” Williams.
Smith informed Fox News that Poague was Julian’s girlfriend, and the youngster lived with his father full-time.
“We are all very hurt and confused, just really in disbelief,” Smith stated. “Ja is doing his best to cope, but it is clearly a difficult situation for him. He does not want to speak with anyone about anything right now.”
WTVY says that Poague graduated from Southwest Georgia Academy before attending Georgia Southwestern State University. She is being held in the Sumter County Jail without bond. She is charged with criminal murder, first-degree cruelty to minors, and aggravated battery.
According to a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can contact the GBI at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477) or submit a report online.
