GP reveals how often the average person farts – and why some people are worse than others

The 31-year-old Hertfordshire doctor revealed in a clip posted to this page that there are numerous causes for frequent farting.

In the video, which has received nearly 600,000 views so far, Doctor Sooj stated that while the NHS states that the typical individual farts five to fifteen times per day, more frequent farts can be natural for some people.

It may, nevertheless, also serve as a sign of specific ailments.

According to the doctor, people with celiac disease or lactose intolerance are more likely to be flatulent than others.

After consuming dairy products like milk and cheese, those with lactose intolerance may experience gas, bloating, and stomach pain.

In contrast, when gluten is eaten, the immune system targets its own tissues in celiac disease.

He explained that it may also indicate conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, or eating foods that are hard to digest.

IBS is a common digestive disorder that causes intermittent symptoms like bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and cramping in the stomach.

Foods like onions, garlic, beans, lentils, milk, coffee, and alcohol frequently cause it.

Over 7,300 people have liked the doctor’s TikTok, and many perplexed users have left comments.

Many admitted to having passinggasms far more frequently than the NHS norm.
