(FOX 2) ARMADA, Mich.Get your dirndl outfits and beer mugs. For the inaugural annual Bavarian Winterfest, Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill will shortly be converted into a bierhaus.

“I’m interested in seeing the lederhosen. The director of experience at Blake’s, Shelby Ackerman, stated, “I want to see the hats with the feathers.” “I want to see it all.”

The event, which requires tickets, will take place on Saturday, January 18, from 12 to 7 p.m.

According to Ackerman, there will be a lesson on making sauerkraut, live polka music, a pretzel-eating competition, and a best-dressed contest.

“Everyone s going to get the chance to make our sauerkraut from the cabbage that was growing out in our field,” said Lonnie Decker, the manager.

According to her, each participant will put cabbage in a big bucket and then smash it for half an hour with a big wooden peg till the juice comes out.

Along with their meal, the workshop is one of the event’s highlights.

“We have our Harvest Beet Bliss Salad, which uses beets from our farm, some balsamic drizzle, orange segments and golden beets that we roasted in house,” Amber Hart, our executive chef, stated. “Goat cheese with a few dried cherries. There are pepitas on it.

According to Blake’s staff, they are among the few cider and orchard mills that are open all year round.

In addition to the Bavarian Winterfest, on January 14, there is a program called Blanket and Brews where participants are given yarn to make their own blankets. Additionally, on January 26, they will be offering a yoga class called “Renew and Reset New Year.”
