It’s a murder mystery on the west side of Detroit. A 21-year-old male, said to be from Fenton, was discovered dead in an abandoned school at Wildemere, close to Buena Vista, and homicide detectives are looking into the incident.
When the neighbors found out about the discovery, they were shocked.
Neighbor Alive Cooper remarked, “I’m a little afraid because I have four kids that live here, and it’s too close.”
Just before ten o’clock on Monday evening, police were contacted regarding the incident. According to sources, the individual may have gone from Genessee County to Detroit to sell a gun, and his parents may have filed a missing person’s report at one point.
At La Salle and La Belle, police discovered his automobile, but the individual was nowhere to be seen. There, a scent was detected by police dogs, who followed it to the deserted school where the man’s body was discovered.
“My kids and other kids in the neighborhood were going into the school just being kids and I kept telling them like stay out the school you know?” Cooper uttered those words. “It might be somebody in there, or you might run into something yall don t want to see and months later this happened.”
Although several shot shells were discovered, no gun was found, according to sources.
“I keep hearing gunshots, and then the results is somebody ended up found in houses, and, it s been too much in this area for sure,” Cooper stated.
Neighbors want something done to keep people out of the abandoned building while detectives continue their investigation.
“What would be the reason for not boarding the place? Since we are looking at this region, there are entries here that you can enter. There is a window and a door that you can open and close,” Phillip McIntosh, a neighbor, remarked.
You are urged to contact Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers if you have any information at all regarding this homicide.
